biotin deficiency from egg whites?

Never heard of that.

Raw egg whites contain avidin, which binds to biotin.

We drink pasteurized egg whites, though, not raw.  Pasteurization disrupts avidin's ability to bind to biotin.

Symptoms of biotin deficiency are "hair loss (alopecia) and a scaly red rash around the eyes, nose, mouth, and genital area. Neurologic symptoms in adults have included depression, lethargy, hallucinations, numbness and tingling of the extremities, ataxia, and seizures."

So you'd know if you were suffering from this deficiency.
