Master Herbalist Who Lived to Be 256 Years..
« on: October 04, 2016, 10:23:08 PM »

The ancient records of humankind are rife with stories of men and women who have outlived the genetically accepted lifespan. There is one legend from more recent times that involved a man who, supposedly, had lived well beyond his 120?s; in fact, according to some accounts, he was believed to have surpassed 250 years.
His name was Li Ching-yun who was a 7 foot tall (210cm) herbalist who was said to have come from the Province of Szechwan, in a town called Kaihsien.
Li was born in 1677 and that the Imperial Chinese Government congratulated him on his 150th and 200th birthdays,? as reported by the New York Times in 1933.
According to legend, the first century of Li Ching-yun?s life had been travelling through the rural mountains of China and was skilled in Qigong. He worked as a herbalist, selling lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng, he shou wu and gotu kola along with other Chinese herbs, and lived off a diet of these herbs and rice wine which he sold.
After his ?retirement? from field collection, he still sold herbs that others gathered for him, which he also subsisted on, along with an occasional portion of rice wine; some of the keys to his longevity, he had often told the curious. Li?s other secrets to longevity had to do with his philosophy on living: he advised that one must, ?keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog? in order to insure a truly long and healthy life.

One of Li's disciples, the Taijiquan Master 'Da Liu' told of his master Li Ching-Yuen story : when his 130 year old Master Li encountered in the mountains an older hermit, over 500 years old, who taught him Baguazhang and a set of Qigong with breathing instructions, movements training coordinated with specific sounds, and dietary recommendations. Da Liu reports that his master said that his longevity "is due to the fact that he performed the exercises every day ? regularly, correctly, and with sincerity.

Why don?t we believe that people can live this long?

Well,,you have to keep in mind that some people on this planet don?t live a grueling 9-5 lifestyle, they don?t have to deal with the stresses of debt, they aren?t breathing crappy polluted city air, and they exercise regularly.

They don?t eat refined sugars or flour, or any foods that have had pesticides sprayed on them. They aren?t living off of the standard American diet.

They aren?t eating fatty meats, sugary desserts, and genetically modified foods. No antibiotics. No alcohol and no tobacco.

Their diets not only exclude junk foods that we so often indulge in, they also include superfoods and herbs which are like steroids for our organs and immune system.

They also spend their spare time in nature practicing breathing techniques and meditating which have been proven to improve mental, physical, and emotional health. They keep things simple, get proper sleep, and spend a great deal of time in nature under the sun.

When we get a chance to relax in the sun, we feel instantly rejuvenated and call this a ?vacation?. Imagine spending a lifetime doing that in the mountains, and combining that with perfect mental, spiritual, and physical well-being.

I however do not doubt for a minute that if we all did the things we knew we were supposed to do, that living to be 100 years old would be commonplace. When we treat our bodies right, who knows how long we can live for?

"This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. "

Bible has people who lived 1000 years. These are legends. We don't know what's true and what's false.

Fact is that lifespan has been increasing steadily with the advances of medicine.
